Although the product and its Japanese origin carried clear value, that value was not being expressed in a coherent or memorable way. ApproachI reframed the project as a structural fix rather than a surface redesign. I formalized “Met” as a core name through a set of logo variations, creating a clearer architecture across touchpoints. I shifted the visual language away from a clinical blue to a more human palette—sage green and beige—while retaining blue on packaging where it already carried recognition. I also updated the typography to a more human, conversational tone to improve readability and approachability across web and product contexts. OutcomeA more coherent brand that aligns how people refer to it with how it presents itself. The system clarifies what the brand stands for and supports consistent use across packaging and digital. The website now communicates context and intent, not just products, making the offer easier to understand and extend to future lines. The objective was to avoid folkloric clichés and instead give the project a visual language that could hold ideas of community, everyday rituals, and the emotional intensity associated with duende. ApproachThe identity was structured around the idea of collective belonging: La Cuadrilla is presented as a shared cultural space, not an individual voice. Typography is the main tool, used as a flexible “shared voice” that can expand, overlap, and adapt to different formats, echoing how people gather, sing, and celebrate together. A restrained black-and-white palette reduces noise and complexity, referencing archival and traditional visuals while making the system easy to apply across print, digital, and physical space. OutcomeThe new identity makes La Cuadrilla easy to recognize and understand across all touchpoints from launch. ApproachThe identity is built around the idea of people and data working in sync. The symbol uses a modular grid where each node represents a point of connection, forming a “t” that balances geometric precision with softer, rounded forms to express Toltek’s dual nature: sharp in logic, human in approach. A palette led by Forest Green and Turquoise sets a calm, contemporary tone, deliberately distancing the brand from the typical blues and neons of the sector. The Mori typeface supports this with a quiet, rational structure and subtle character, giving the brand a clear voice across product, web, and communication. OutcomeThe new identity makes Toltek’s role easy to read: a partner that turns complex connection into clarity and collaboration into progress. During my time at Getmyboat, I: Bridged product and marketing through one cohesive design and brand-visual language. Oversaw design implementation across every channel—web, iOS, Android, paid ads, social and email. Managed the rebrand in close collaboration with Brands of This Century (strategy) and Paseo Studio (identity). Illustrated the brand, building a bespoke graphics suite that extends Paseo’s core identity. Some are drawn to the solemnity of the processions, others to the scent of orange blossoms and incense, the music, the noise, or simply the joy of sharing tapas with family in the streets. Semana Santa means something different to everyone, and that's what makes it so special.
